General Specification for Access Control Hub Control Module

General Specification for Access Controller Unit

THE CONTROL UNIT shall be of a size which recesses into a standard single-gang electricalfixture. The control unit shall have twelve tactile push-buttons upon its visible face to allow entry of data to the control unit. Each of the twelve tactile push-buttons shall bear one of the following nomenclatures with all nomenclatures being represented by one tactile push-button: 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7; 8; 9; 0; *; #. The control unit shall accept properly entered data only when in a valid programming state, which shall be accessed through entry of a preselected master combination of the tactile push-buttons of the control unit. The control unit shall indicate valid entry into and presence in the programming state by flashing an amber light emitting diode. Data entered by means of the tactile push-buttons on the visible face of the control unit shall be stored in memory and used by the control unit during its normal operational state. The control unit shall contain a piezoelectric sounding device which, when in the control units defaulted state, shall indicate the positive actuation of any of the tactile push-buttons by emitting a short burst of sound. The control unit shall have three light emitting diodes. The light emitting diodes shall be of the types: amber, red/green, infrared. The light emitting diodes shall be visible through the face of the control unit and shall be protected with a translucent membrane. In the normal operational state of the control unit, the light emitting diodes shall have the following dispositions: amber-off, red/green-red, infrared-off.

THE CONTROL UNIT shall store up to five hundred unique sets of data for comparison to data input. The control unit shall have two way communication with up to two data input devices and shall communicate in a proprietary serial format. The control unit shall contain form C relays preassigned to the following functions: Lock Release, Alarm Zone Shunt, Forced Door, Propped Door. The control unit shall contain two input loops assigned to the following functions: Request to Exit, Door Position Sensor. The control unit shall store in memory, records of operations (transactions) up to the quantity of 500. These records shall contain the following data: user number, door number, time, date. The control unit shall contain a real-time clock for facilitation of the transactions. The control unit shall be capable of transfering the transactions to both a serial printer and an infrared printer. The serial printer shall connect directly ot the control unit. The infrared output of the transactions shall be througth the face of the control unit.
