Control Unit:
A. A SINGLE PIECE weatherproof magnetic
card reader capable of mounting on a standard aluminum or
wood door frame. The reader will connect to the control unit
with four wires and will communicate with the control unit
over two of the four wires using a proprietary serial
communication method. The reader shall contain two light
emitting diodes (LED) which will be controlled by the
control unit. The light emitting diodes shall be of the
types: amber, red/green. The light emitting diodes shall be
visible through the face of the reader and shall be
protected with a translucent membrane. In the normal
operational state of the control unit, the light emitting
diodes shall have the following dispositions: amber-off,
red/green-red. The reader shall contain a piezoelectric
sounding device which, when in the control units defaulted
state, shall indicate the positive presentation of an access
control proximity card or token by emitting a short burst of
sound. The dimensions of the reader shall be 4.5" high x
1.75" wide x 1.55" deep. The material of the housing shall
be machined aluminum.
B. A TWO PIECE weatherproof proximity
wall switch reader capable of being mounted directly on a
standard metal or plastic single-gang electrical box or on a
flat wall with the secondary electronics being remote. The
secondary electronics will connect to the control unit with
four wires and will communicate with the control unit over
two of the four wires using a proprietary serial
communication method. The reader shall contain a light
emitting diode (LED) which will be controlled by the control
unit. The light emitting diode shall be of the type:
